More than a decade ago, four young men from Costa Rica's rural countryside set out in the world of ecotourism. Though never having worked in the business prior, Ricardo, Adonay, Nelson, and Jonathan had spent their lives among the cloud forests of Costa Rica's Central Valley, and quickly gained repute for their expertise in the area's nature and wildlife.

The four soon honed their specialty to the canopy tour. Here, their native familiarity with the land allowed them to fully express the beauty of Costa Rica through their work. Soon acclaimed for their mastery of the craft, the four strove to make every tour a complement of its landscape, like a garment tailored to its owner.

For eleven years the four worked in the construction, maintenance, and guiding of canopy tours, all the while growing in their knowledge of the business. Finally, in 2008, they had accrued the experience necessary to launch their own operation.

After a period of searching, the four came upon a plot of earth in the Central Valley, and were enamored. Here, nestled in the San Luis countryside, a serene cloud forest lay virginal. The land was hilled and valleyed, breathing with wildlife, spotted by waterfalls and carved through by a majestic river: every criterion the four had considered was satisfied. Immediately, planning began for the masterpiece.
